Dr. Bons obtained her Bachelor of Science in Psychology, from Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri, in May 1993. Then from September 1995 to August 1996, she completed her dental pre-requisites at New York University was then accepted into dental school at Northwestern University in Chicago. Dr. Bons earned her Doctorate of Dental Surgery degree from NUDS in April 2001.
While in school, Dr. Bons completed many externships and fellowship programs Dr. Bons was selected by faculty to serve as Student Dentist through the Colorado Migrant Health Externship Program in Denver.
After graduating from NUDS, she completed a Post-Doctoral Fellowship at Johns Hopkins Medical Center in Baltimore where she worked in the Department of Otolaryngology. Dr. Bons also completed rotations with emphasis on oral pathology, oral surgery and the general care of medically-compromised patients.
From June 2001 to July 2002, Dr. Bons was a General Practice Resident at the University of Maryland Medical Systems in the Department of Hospital Dentistry/Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.
Dr. Bons feels it is important to stay on the cutting-edge of dentistry which is why she maintains the requirements to stay licensed to practice dentistry in the states of Florida and Maryland, and is North East Regional Board Certified.
She holds certification with CEREC 3-D technology, and she is certified in Basic Life Support and in Advanced Cardiac Life Support by the American Heart Association and
is also a member of many prestigious professional organizations, including the American Dental Association, Florida Dental Association and the Atlantic Coast District Dental Association.
In her spare time, Dr. Bons enjoys traveling, reading fiction and snow skiing. She also enjoys spending time with her two young children and husband, Dr. Brian Bons
